Our sermon series for the next few months is entitled “That’s What the Man Said: The Sayings of Jesus.” It’s based on a Discipleship Workbook written by Maxie Dunnam, a retired United Methodist pastor and author. While Jesus healed many people and performed miracles, he was forever speaking words of life. They are not always easy words to hear for they challenge our acceptance of the status quo and our divided loyalties. But, the words which Jesus speaks are the truths that set us free. Come, as we gather for worship, let us sit beneath Jesus’ teaching and allow his Spirit to make, in us, all things new again.
