UPDATE 12/16/24: The Missions Committee thanks everyone who participated in the Salvation Army Adopt-a-Family Angel Tree project. Today, a car full of gifts—winter coats, clothing, personal care products, household items, toys, and gift cards—was delivered to the Salvation Army. Because of your generosity, this family will have a memorable Christmas.
Missions News – March 2024
Included with your recent financial statement was a summary of the many organizations our church helped to support in 2023. It is our hope that we can continue assisting two familiar, and two new, local agencies in 2024.
Starting this week, February 25, and running through April, we will be having a clothing drive for the Hope Rescue Mission. Last September, they opened a new center called The Lighthouse. This new building is designated specifically for women and children. Therefore, we will be collecting clothing for all genders and all ages. They have requested new or gently used shoes, belts, hats, scarves, purses, blankets, and coats for any season. All should be clean. They especially asked for NEW men’s underwear, undershirts, and sweatpants. Med. to XXL.
There are three containers in the Wagner Room at the back of the sanctuary; one for Men’s items, one for Women’s items, and one for children. We are also accepting any financial contributions through plate envelopes, mail, or online. Please mark those contributions to go specifically to The Hope Rescue Mission. There is also a “Drop Your Change to Make a Change” jar in the Wagner Room. We are hoping to fill this jar and donate it to the Hope Rescue Mission.
Let’s all help make this clothing drive another success in Lincoln Park’s outreach to those in need.
Thanks.
