Thanks to You, Our Food Ministry Is on Solid Ground!
From Jim Gehman, Food Ministries Chair
As we complete our second full year in operation, we’re happy to announce that we are on solid ground. We’re grateful to you, our congregation, for your support to this mission. We’ve been able to provide hundreds of meals to Opportunity House and hundreds of Care Meals to members of our church family, as well as neighbors and friends in our communities.
Our Fourth Sunday Breakfast continues to grow. We advertise this ministry as a “Free Breakfast” and invite anyone to join us. We’ve had very few walk-ins, so this ministry has evolved into a social gathering of our two congregations. Attendees enjoy the opportunity to see members of our church family who attend the other church service. I encourage more members from our traditional service to join us for these breakfasts.
Alan Koebel is the leader of our Food Ministry volunteers. His culinary experience and calm leadership are invaluable to the success of this ministry. We are grateful for Alan!
Thank you for your financial contributions to our Food Ministry. Whatever method of giving you choose, be sure to identify the ministry of your choice:
- Opportunity House
- CARE Meals
- Fourth Sunday Breakfasts
We hope to see you at our next Fourth Sunday breakfast.
LP Church prepares, delivers, and serves dinner at Opportunity House on the first Tuesday of every other month. The next dates are November 5, 2024, and January 7, 2025. Help is usually needed from 3–7 pm. Come and join us!
