Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church started in 1937 as a community Sunday School Class, meeting in a two room school house. In September, 1945, 23 persons organized to form a church, and in 1946, these people became members of a mission church.
Ground was broken for the church building in 1947 as well as the laying of the cornerstone. 1949 was an eventful year with the first service being held in the present sanctuary, the dedication of the church, and the assignment of the first full time pastor.
